The new-look Argy Hotel bringing food, family and friends together

Bringing food, family and friends together. That was the goal of a multi-million-dollar renovation recently carried out at the Argenton Hotel.

After being closed to the public for six months, Stage One of the re-design is now complete and the hotel re-opened on Thursday, 30 August with a fresh new look and feel.

"Stage One of the development was a huge investment, basically rebuilding and redeveloping the entire premises," owner Campbell Rogers said.

"Stage Two, which is the development of a function centre, will be completed toward the end of the year."

According to Campbell, catering for families and providing spaces that bring people together were key goals of the renovation, and the new-look outdoor space certainly serves that purpose with the installation of 25-seater cabanas that open directly onto an incredible kids playground.

"They are undercover, private and perfect for families, birthdays, get-togethers and kids, " Campbell said.

"The main idea behind these cabanas was to make the hotel family friendly and a good experience for mum, dad and the kids."

Additionally, a key aspect of the interior design was the creation of open spaces with clean lines and fresh colours.

"We wanted the hotel to be inviting for patrons the second they walk in the door," Campbell said.

"You'll see lots of blue, white and green throughout the hotel and the large bone-colour pendant lights around the bar add to that."

Live music will also be a key focus of the hotel with entertainment every weekend, while careful attention has also been paid to the food offering.

"With all-day dining from Friday to Sunday, providing great quality food at an affordable price was also a key focus for us," Campbell said.

"Our new head chef John Coombes brings years of experience to the team with a fantastic menu with something for everyone. You can expect to see all your pub favourites plus some unique tapas dishes, seafood and a great selection of pizzas."

Now well equipped to service the needs of a growing residential population, particularly in and around Boolaroo, there is a great deal to look forward to as a result of the structural and design renovation of the Argy Hotel.

But according to Campbell, there is one element in particular that best defines the success of the project.

"The best aspect of the hotel by far is the attitude of our staff. Everyone is known by name and welcomed in. A key aspect of the development was to serve the Argenton community and be a place where anyone could come in, enjoy a cold beer, have a chat with the bar staff and relax . I believe we have not only achieved that, but will exceed the expectations of everyone who comes to visit us."
