New community support group The Kennel raised $1,600 for men's mental health on the weekend, with the help of Hotel Cessnock.
The Kennel boys, along with Hotel Cessnock, put on a car wash, accompanied by a barbecue and live music to help raise money and awareness for men's mental health issues.
Hotel Cessnock spokesperson Laurie Howell said he was happy to throw in the first $250 to get the ball rolling, as well as providing the venue and water for the event, because it was important to continue supporting initiatives that would benefit the local community.
