Exchange Hotel to hold drought charity night for local farmers

The identities of the bachelors will remain a closely guarded secret until the night

The Exchange Hotel at Hamilton is getting ready to support our struggling local farmers with Schooners for Singleton - a drought charity night complete with live music, raffles and the hotel's first ever Bachelor Auction featuring the University of Newcastle Seahorse Rugby Club players.

The community fundraiser will be held from 9pm on Saturday, 30 November and aims to raise money for drought-stricken farming families in Singleton and Merriwa.

“Coming into summer we really want to show some support to the local farming community,” hotel director Andrew Lazarus said.

“This event has been organised through Rural Aid and we will be donating $1 from every beer, wine and selected spirits sale on the night.”

The night will feature the hotel's inaugural Bachelor Auction, featuring University of Newcastle Seahorse Rugby Club.

The identity of the bachelors will remain a closely guarded secret until the night, however ladies are certain to have a great time getting involved with the spirit of raising money for a good cause.

In addition to the inaugural Bachelor Auction, the Schooners for Singleton charity event will also feature live music from local bands and raffles.

“We will also be taking donations of non-perishable food items which will be given directly to the struggling farmers in our community,” Andrew said.

“It will be a great night for a good cause."
