
The Australian Hotels Association NSW recently launched a week-long drought appeal with the aim of raising $150,000 for drought-stricken farmers, with all proceeds provided to Rural Aid/Buy A Bale.
In Newcastle and the Hunter, hoteliers quickly jumped on board and we created Fork to Farm, an initiative incorporating existing meal percentage donations and direct pledges with all proceeds going toward the AHA NSW fundraising campaign.
Within the first 48 hours our generous Newcastle and Hunter hoteliers pledged almost $70,000 to the cause.
But for some, that still wasn't enough. They wanted to do more.
While our AHA state-wide fundraiser concludes on Friday, 10 August and has so far raised more than $200,000 across NSW, there are still ways to help our hoteliers raise even more money for our farming community in crisis.

The Beatty has a unique and ongoing way of fundraising for a variety of causes, whereby patrons throw money onto the ceiling and it sticks. Have a go, it's a lot of fun!
